This book focus on Karna and his role in Mahabharata. Even though Mahabharata’s legend is well known, the author’s narration takes the reader on an uncharted journey. Shivaji Sawant tries to shed mild on his tragedies and his unfortunate life with the use of fascinating words. He superbly describes the life of Karna. This book portrays Karna, with all his flaws and does not just show him as an epitome of goodness. The ending is concluded well, with Sri Krishna reciting the ultimate war.

Shyamchi Aai is regarded as an iconic piece of work in Marathi literature even after so many decades, and fairly so. It fantastically depicts how the greatness of a mother’s love and her moral upbringing molds her teens into satisfactory human beings. The book is a series of fond maternal recollections being narrated by an older Shyam to his pals at the ashram. Each story he shares rides high on emotions and imparts excellent life lessons taught to him by his mother. An absolute must-read!

Shriman Yogi is a biographical work on the life and achievements of the great Maratha king, Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj. This historical novel has created history in the world of literature and books. Shivaji Maharaj was a courageous warrior and a great tactician. At the same time, he was also a very good administrator, and the kingdom he was building up became stronger under his rule. He suffered many defeats too, but he never gave up his vision, and ultimately, he did succeed in making his dream a reality. The greatest book ever on Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The elaborate inspirational life of the greatest emperor of the world.

L Deshpande in the center as a resident of an imaginary apartment in Mumbai city called “Batatychi Chal”. One must read this book, and I can bet he or she will never keep it down till the end. This is the best comic Marathi book to read.

Yet another masterpiece by Shivaji Sawant. This gives us a specific point of view to look at the life of Shri Krishna. Not as a hero or god, however, as a human who desired to let humans recognize that the best power in the world is love.

Vyakti Ani Valli is a series of personality sketches by Purushottam Laxman Deshpande, the famous Marathi writer. Drawing from real-life characters and incidents, these sketches are as diverse as humans can be and pretty interesting. Each persona is so special and described in a very fascinating way. Some characters make you laugh, some shock you, some put a smile on your face, and some wet the corners of your eyes. Antu Barva, Nanda Pradhan, Sakharam Gatne, Chitale master, Narayan are some of the great ones. The list goes on, with a fine variety of characters reflecting the ironies of life.

It is so inspiring and makes you appreciate every little thing you have.

This is another classical gem in the writing of prominent social comic writer P L Deshpande. Asa mi Asami is a humorous portrayal of the middle class, the common man, who does not want to make any influence on the world and simply live a regular life, however, has to go on with life and change with the world nevertheless. You will read this book more than one time. This is my favorite book.
